The cuvée comes from parcels at 500 meters altitude. The key here is the constant freshness from the maritime entrances and inland winds, and this is a microclimate that brings the best of the cabernet franc grape.


The result is a fresh and gently spicy cabernet franc. Some red berries, spiced cherries, Mediterranean herbs, clay, cloves, and undergrowth aromas develop on the nose giving a real sense of place. The palate is immediately flavorful and tangy. Medium-bodied with ultra-fine tannins, it impresses with its drinkability and freshness, yet it remains intense, sharp, and deliciously spicy. Absolutely addictive.


Ampeleia is a serious project from renowned winemaker Elisabetta Foradori, who transplanted the biodynamic winemaking processes of her family’s estate in Trentino to Tuscany, where she has partnered with Marco Tait in pursuing the same biodynamic philosophy, tailoring it to the Tuscan ecosystem.

Food Pairing

Ragu pasta, beef stews, grilled red meats, spicy sausages, anything meaty will allow it to excel and bring its energy and spicy edge to elevate the dish.

Serving tips

Serve out of the fridge at around 8-10 degrees and let it warm up in the glass.


This wine loves a bit of aging. It reaches a good balance after five years of aging.
